John S. Koehler is a Virginia attorney who served for 25 years as a career law clerk in the chambers of the Hon. Lawrence L. Koontz, Jr. of the Supreme Court of Virginia. Now Mr. Koehler practices appellate law exclusively. As Of Counsel to the Law Office of James Steele PLLC, Mr. Koehler represents clients in both criminal and civil appeals, as well as providing appellate services to attorneys who may lack the time or resources to go through the appellate process alone. Mr. Koehler works dilligently to improve the practice of law. He is heavily involved in multiple bar associations and nonprofits, is a frequent speaker at CLE programs, and maintains the Virginia Appellate Lawyer's Blog.
